The Shoninki is perhaps the most highly regarded of the historical ninjutsu manuals. This is a must have for anyone interested in the ninja, samurai or medieval japan. It is a clear translation and very readable.

Dont expect to learn how to fight like a Ninja, this is how Shinobi made them selves appear like mystical beings. This gives you an insight into their lives as they really were not how Hollywood portrays them. I found it a little hard going at times and needed to re-read sentences to make sense of them with my 21st Century mind, but really interesting and absorbing.

I bought this book a number of years ago and i always find myself going back a reading it again and again
A great source of historical information not just for Shinobi no jutsu but it is also a great insight into the mind/character of the one's that would use it
I would recommend it to you if you have a deep interest in Japanese warfare/warrior culture and history
Not too overwhelming with information but a perfect start in your own pursuit for information
A great book/translation from Antony Cummins and Yoshie Minami

To be honest I bought this book on a whim, although I have found a curiosity for ninjitsu, and Japanese martial history. But found this book highly intriguing, with fascinating annotation by Antony.

Author has no understanding of Japanese culture and cannot read or speak Japanese. someone else does the actual translations and the author then deciphers these translations into his own skewed concept. Anyone thinking about buying these books should check out of of his bizarre youtube video's first and then go and find some real books by real researchers

A straight translation with some explanation. Makes anyone interested in ninja see things from a different perspective. Short book, can be read in a single sitting.
