Whether you're starting out or a seasoned pro' this is a 'must have' book of awesome designs. Utilising Grimas paints [as a recent convert, I can say categorically that Grimas is a higher quality brand and far nicer to use than Snazaroo...not cheap tho] the effects are amazing with easy to follow, step-by-step photographs. There are even visual instructions on which brush to use for specific effects. The designs are varied and well thought out and are suited to adults as well as children. The other books in this series are worth buying. For the professional artist, they are a brilliant investment and, unless they're using the same designs, your work will stand out from the rest.

I LOVE this book - it's like coffee-table literature for face painters.
Its a big A4 book, hardback but slim, and the faces get (it seems) more difficult as you go through it.
The 1st few are all beginner/ super fast faces, but progress to some unusual designs definitely of use to professional painters. By the back where there's a sort of portfolio of AMAZING artwork (not step-by-step), they are just stunning.
Beautiful photos too.
I can read german (very very slowly) but I didn't bother translating this for ages as there are step by step photos, with diagrams representing which colours to use and if you use a brush, sponge or whatever.
I seem to recall there was a translation online somewhere anyway too.
My only complaint is it's not the toughest book, not spiral bound or with wipe-clean pages like the more modern step-by-step books are. And due to its size is not as easy to have out to practice with.

Again another fab Funky Faces book...even though everything is in German. There are little diagrams at the side of each picture showing you what colour paints to use, whether you should use a brush or sponge etc...so it's not all bad...
This hard backed book is full of lovely clear and colourful pictures...some of the face painting ideas are really good too...Think I will need lots of practice to master some of them, being a novice...
I personally love the Funky Faces books and would recommend them to anyone...
