As a (male) amateur getting interested in tablet and inkle weaving, and with a brain the size of a sand grain, I found this book admirably clear and easy to follow. The dual language format doesn't get in the way, and all the diagrams and pictures make it so easy to perform the same patterns onesself.

If you only buy a few books, buy this one, and his other title, Der Zauber des Brettchenwebens, and you will be a long way to understanding and using some very useful designs, and developing your own.

In a world where too many books aren't worth the cover price, these two are worth every penny/euro/etc, and are essentials for any weaver's bookshelf, no matter what level of ability.

This is not a guide book for a beginner but an excellent source of information for advanced weavers and for readers with historical interest in weft. The book is well equipped with black and white pictures of motifs and their schemas
