A wonderful breakdown of some of the main films in the film noir catorgory.Fabulous full page photography, neatly and easily understood prose giving a breakdown of the films background-storyline, who was in it/director etc a fantastic purchase for the price..£6 approx..being a fan of this genre, this was the icing on the cake to be able to 'pull out' some of the details on 'how' some of the films came to look the way they did.Arrived in good time as described,no issues at all.
An absolutely wonderful book. The illustrations are first class as you would expect from a "coffee table" book, especially as Noir lends itself to still photography. However, the standard of the text is very high indeed. The section on the Darkness and Corruption is a particular stand out for me. The one thing to be careful about is that there are detailed resumés of some films so be prepared to skip bits to avoid spoilers.
Beautifully produced and informative guide to classic film noir. Would suit both the coffee table and the connoisseur. Classics are included as well as some off beat gems. My collection of films is growing all the time thanks to this fantastic book!
