In this book wines argues for a new philosophy in architecture, one that is more ecocentric, and calls for a revaluation of architecture and also the culture that sponsors it. However even as an architecture student at times I found this book terribly difficult to read. Wines may have a good argument but he makes it rather inaccessible (thus failing to promote a new thinking in architecture) and strays from his point on several occasions.
In conclusion a good book if you have the patience to persevere with it!
