The book is in three sections. The first section is an overview of ontologies for modelling. The second section is a tour of the work to date in industry on relating OWL to UML. The third section is the specifics of implementation.
Despite being written by academics the book gives a plain English tour of the state of the art in modelling using ontologies. This isn't written like a textbook or like an academic paper, this is much more interesting to read.
