Wow Ruth - you told me I was the first to say you should be an author...... This book doesn't half make me feel proud to be right! My eldest and me read each evening and I'm not sure which of us looked forward to it the most. Simply brilliant! A great level for my nine year old to test her slightly for vocabulary. She loved it!!
I bought this book for my daughter as she had seen it at a book fair and really wanted it but the price was expensive. Got it on amazon for less than half the price so I was very pleased. My daughter was extremely excited when she opened the parcel. Thanks Amazon
This novel was so much fun to read; a totally absorbing action packed adventure story set in the Amazon in search of Eldorado. It’s a beautifully written novel, full of images (and peppered with information) that transport you right to the depths (and difficulties) of the jungle in an instant. Ben and his two friends Rafael and Yara work together to put things right and save Ben’s father. I thoroughly enjoyed the villain character (Ruth Eastham provides an extremely convincing background and depth to him). It’s a tender story that intermingle the thrill and suspense of completing quests (and puzzles) with the relief of redemption. Eastham has given us yet another colourful and fast paced read! (With the added bonus of a gorgeous golden shiny cover which I loved!). Ideal reading age 10-12.
I love reading adventure books like Jaguar Trials. I liked this book because it is very exiting and uses the super natural all through the book. My favourite characters were Ben and Rafael and the local girl they met. I read it so quick because it was tense so I wanted to turn the pages very quickly. I'm 10.
