Interesting - Bradshaws Continental Raiulway guide
on 16 December 2013
NOTE - This review is for the (ASIN:1908402474 Bradshaws Continental Railway Guide (Old House) book), and NOT the one illustrated at the side.
Can be carried without much trouble - very like the one on TV that Michael Portillo carries. Be aware that about half the book comprises old out of date time tables . The next half is the gazetteer, which I found very interesting, with places you visit as they were in times past - making the comparison is fun and informative, though this half it is split in two with the last part being advertisements for hotels and so on of places in the gazetteer.
So not quite as much information as many would like. It would have been perhaps more sensible to have split the book into two parts, sold separately maybe. Then the gazetteer would have been much more manageable. I mean very old timetables are not too useful, whereas the gazetteer information is in many cases still relevant today.
Overall a good thing, but a better description would have been useful to buyers as to the content. I think some will be disappointed.
To reiterate - this review is of the "Continental Railway Guide" as pointed out by the first comment. Hope this avoids any further confusion. My fault, my apologies!
