TOP 500 REVIEWERon 15 January 2017
Probably fails as poetry in most accepted senses but then I suspect he wasn't trying to succeed. He was trying just to hang on to the radiance, trying not to fry his eyeballs while he was plugged in to the source. Amazing. Makes most proper poetry look like double-entry book-keeping. A high energy Burroughs/Zukofsky resonance band for our neo-Victorian times.

In this book Keston Sutherland reaches a poetic voice which carries greater clarity than in his previous poems. Rather than a criticism of his earlier work this is in fact high praise for the voice of these Odes. Find considerations of the vital issues of the day, combined with wit, bathos, ability to sensitively handle a line and language with a tough sensibility worthy of the 21st challenges it confronts.
