Very useful; could use minor updates such as the fact that VoIP is no longer illegal or filtered.

The book is OK...but way too much information that is not necessary...also there are no pictures as to what Belize looks like...after reading about 30 pages or so...I put it down and will probably not use it again. There is some good information there but it is lost within all the other non essential information.

Much better than other publications (we bought 3others). Excellent for diving and wildlife with loads of little quirky spots the others missed. Got pointed to Chef Robs gourmet restaurant in Hopkins.....best night for years and not in any of the other books.

I can't believe hoe long it has taken me to visit Belize. It's such a stunning place - incredible reef-fringed tropical islands, rain forests thick with wildlife, forgotten Mayan ruins.

This book unlocked the country for us. It was particularly good on wildlife, diving and the Mayan cities. Very helpful on the best places to dive out on Ambergris caye and the Lighthouse reef - including the best individual dives with their degrees of difficulty, loads on birds and mammals in the forests and individual guides to all the Mayan temples.

We found a great little resort - the Black Orchid - through the book, where we based ourselves for exploring Central Belize, and a real gem of a restaurant in Placencia, the Rumfish. Tough binding and a small format made it an ideal for using on the ground too.

I used the previous edition for a trip to Brazil and it was massively helpful. I had brought other guide books, but ended up relying on this one. Its cultural insights and practical recommendations were thorough and spot on.
