Does not appear to reflect the market changes that have ebay has caused. I contacted the author and they do not appear to have any intention of using ebay market prices as a source of information, but intend to simply stick with dealer prices based on catalogues and trade shows.

My understanding is that the reason for this is that it is believed cheap ebay prices reflect much lower quality items, however I have found that not to be true and that the majority of ebay sellers offer good quality on the basis that they want repeat custom and that ebay has a feedback system. In addition to this, most of the ebay sellers are dealers on the non-ebay secondary market too.

Therefore in my opinion, the basis for not pursuing to incorporate ebay as a source of market data is ill-informed and reduces the value of the guide.

Other than that, the publication is good in every other way.

I bought this to check on Victorian stamp values only.

I am seriously disappointed that the book does not follow Stanley Gibbons calalogue identification.

Apart from the 1840 & 1841 penny backs and blues, the variation in colours given by SG are not given, which seriously devalues its use for these stamps, which are often highly priced. Yet it goes into great differentiation on modern GB stamps. I don't understand the publishers' approach

Also I think it could have used an unmounted mint listing of Victorian stamps from, say,1880 onwards as there are quite a lot of post-1880 MNH stamps around.

Brilliant I can now discover what if anything my collection is worth. A necessary item for any collector whether a serious
collector or not. One never knows the true value without some expert guigance.

The content of this book was first class. The workmanship is its making was forth class. As you open the book several sections fall out from the back because of poor binding. Very disappointing.

Absolute waste of money. Hoping to return it as it does not give information needed. For commemorative stamps only gives value for sets and first day covers not individual stamps.

Mum thought this was interesting. A good alternative to Stanley Gibbons though better to use both.
