Like the music, but the CD doesn't want to rip itself to my music library so it's not going to get listened to much. There's always the car, I suppose.

I bought this for my partner, who had expressed an interest in Ali Farka Toure's music. As a black country lad he has had a lifelong love of reggae and ska and fairly good knowledge of blues, bluegrass, etc. However he didn't know anything about African music. This was a perfect introduction for him and he really enjoys listening to it,as do I. I shall look out for some more Rough Guide CDs, perhaps as stocking fillers for him.

I love World Music, and bought this after watching a BBC 4 doco on it. Malian music is truly wonderful

something about this , you pick up on where the blues came from before it evolved in the delta , the definitive split between noorth and south african music
