I purchased this book for a friend who is going to Australia for a Holiday and she was absolutely delighted with it, She says it is a very interesting read and would recommend it to everyone. Added to the fact it was so much cheaper than purchasing it elsewhere

This is more a description of The Great Ocean Road, rather than a tourist guide book. it is not written in the normal style of a guide book and is very weak on tourist information such as hotels, restaurants, car hire, camp sites, etc.
It also has an irritating habit of continually preaching about sustainable tourism. I would recommend that the map, "Melbourne to Adelaide" by Hema be purchased to supplement this book. This is not just a map, but includes all sorts of tourist information. I also suggest looking on the web sites of the various towns on the Great Ocean Road.

This Book is full of helpful and facinating information for anyone wanting to travel along the Great Ocean Road. When it says it is a complete guide then it's not far wrong, as it has ample details for walkers, surfers, swimmers, families wanting safe beaches and tourism generally. It is also a useful source for finding other links as it gives plenty of helpful ideas about what to see and how to access further information, addresses and web sites. One criticism is that it's so big and heavy, not something that can be easily carried around on the move. Also it requires quite a bit of concentration to begin with as it's contents are set out in an unusual manner and there is rather a lot of page hopping around.
