In addition to being the author of this excellent book, David Nightingale is responsible for the fabulous Chromasia (do a search) website. If you don't know his work, then do take a look and you'll see that his credentials as a wonderful photographer are never in doubt. He also writes very well explaining sometimes complex concepts clearly and concisely. Naturally, this book is written in similar style. It's easy to understand and explains simply how to achieve the "extreme" techniques of the title. The photographs used, many his own, are terrific and the book is beautifully produced. Highly recommended.
This book is a must if you are taking images that need something a little different to make them stunning! David's writing and teaching methods are clear and concise and he walks you through the techniques in a simple to understand way - so if you are a total novice, then you can buy with confidence; if you are more experienced, the book will still work for you!.
I also have David's HDR Photography book, again an excellent buy!
As a previous reviewer has mentioned, the photo mags are only just catching up now with something rather special that David has been teaching for a number of years! His online tutorials are excellent and worthy of the small fee. [...]
A book that contains little for the advanced worker but great for a beginner. However we do all get into a bit of a rut at times and maybe trying one of the techniques within might give one ideas. Interesting to note how many of these techniques are the in thing in current photo mags- took a couple of years for them to get on the ball!
