Very clean (ex-library) copy arrived on time. Thanks. The bonus is you get Bernard Coard's original text plus reviews/commentary's by practitioners, researchers, others who have worked in the field since publication of the original text. They in essence provide insight into how things have progressed or otherwise) since Coard's original observations. Great to have this wealth of insight in one volume
From the first time I picked up this book I was unable to put it down. I was very pleased to see Bernard Coard's seminal work included in this book alonside other prominent activists/writers/academics such as Diane Abbott, Heidi Safia Mirza and Benjamin Zephaniah. I am a lecturer in education and have recommended this book to all the students on my course as well as members of my own community. I think anyone who is involved in educating or working with Black children should read this book.
The book is clearly set out. The contributors are of a high quality and present a succint, well informed view on issues of race, equality and education. I recommend it without reservation.
