I must have bought just about every map ever published for the island of Gran Canaria and have found them middling to poor. Often the information on them is wrong, incomplete or just plain missing!

This new map is really good including up-to-date topographical info - and a real plus for us walkers and for bikers - plenty of walking routes clearly marked. It is a 1:50,000 scale map and so shows small details and is clear and easy to follow. Another bonus is the material it is printed on - not paper but a type of plastic that is lightweight yet really tough and rip-proof and waterproof so should last and out up with tough outdoor treatment.

Highly recommended, for walking, biking or driving the island.

Essential for safe navigation

We have used T&T maps for a number of years and not once been disappointed by the rich detail and coverage. We used this one a couple of weeks ago and had completely hassle free days out. Some may think that the path marking on Gran Canaria is so good that a local map will do just fine. However just try finding anything that is as detailed and up to date as this. Further consider what happens when you reach a staggered junction on a route and find multiple signposts and two of these point in near opposite directions to the same destination! This happened to us on one walk and the T&T not only confirmed the best option but revealed a slightly off-rout alternative.
It is simply not safe to venture out without an adequate map even in what is thought to be easy walking country. The T&T maps are supported by free downloadable files for gps and if you like the maps as much as I do you can purchase for use on Android .
Last point is that they can take rough handling and a good soaking without disintegrating as we found on a day of very heavy rain and severe winds.

Luckily we bought this before our first trip to Gran Canaria in Autumn 2015. We were staying outside Puerto Mogan with transport. We are trail runners and had a fantastic week discovering the surrounding routes ending up with full day mountain run after a local bus trip to our starting point. The map was indispensable and the detail perfect for us. In fact we loved it all so much we're going back for a longer holiday with backpacks and more guides!

I've been using Discovery Walking Guides maps for a number of years. This new 3rd edition for Gran Canaria is the most up to date walking map available. It clearly shows all roads (including minor), walking routes (from Rambling Roger), tracks and paths. It's printed on hard wearing waterproof material and covers the whole island on both sides. Highly recommended.

Quite simply the best maps you can buy for walking/touring abroad. Virtually all other maps you can buy are based on old military maps which I've found to be 80% accurate at best. DWG however has re-drawn the map themselves using satellite imagery and so are 99%+ accurate. The super-durable material also means the map will last for many years & not disintegrate after a week's hard use.

Yes, it's only a map, but it's very durable. I've just used it everyday for two weeks and it's hardly suffered from the abuse. It's also very good as a standard road map.

Get this map and you will not need any other. We always use this series to help us plan where we are going to stay. Wish there was one for Ibiza too because they are that good.

Used this extensively for a walking holiday in GC. It is the only map worth buying for walking in the area and ties in well with Rambling Roger's walking routes. We still managed to get lost quite a lot, but you won't find a better alternative for walking use.

Wow, it is really super-durable, I would stop producing maps from any other material! The map was very easy to use, it is absolutely accurate.

Bought to use on a walking holiday in GC, and does the job well. In conjunction with Rambling Roger's guides we haven't got lost once. We've used the map several times now and it looks as good as new. Used in conjunction with ViewRanger app on smartphone (digital version of map is downloadable for £7.99) to help with GPS co-ordinates. Well worth the money.
