a bit more detail would have been nice, but still an interesting read
on 20 August 2016
I've read plenty of memoirs written by allied aviators, so I found this a very interesting read. However, I felt that the author could have used more detail (I am not a reader who enjoys too much, novel-like detail). Some of his victories are described, but how did he feel before, during and after these kills? And that is really the main flaw of this book. He offers very little by way of a description of his emotional responses to his experiences, including some which were undoubtedly quite traumatising. Overall, worth a read and I enjoyed it.
