Not just a childrens book, this is Joan Aitkin at her best. The Bread Bin is an hilarious tale of Arabell and her very unusual pet Raven Mortimer.Who's only words "Never more" never fail to raise a smile. The characters interect supurbly, as this story of every day life at the Jones unfolds. Poor Mortimer is always finding himself in the thick of things leaving the rest of the family to mop up, literally at times, after him.The story builds to an exciting end, where we are delighted with slap stick and touched with heartwarming affection shown only in true friendship. This book will leave you with only one dilema; how to track down the rest in the series. Happy hunting!

My kids love the stories. But very expensive, (maybe this is the reason why?).

This is the 3rd Mortimer story we've tracked down having enjoyed one from a charity shop. Unlikely story but great fun.
