I feel conned
on 13 February 2004
I feel totally and utterly conned by this book.
There are 100 questions to suit all occasions. After choosing a question, you then let your finger hover over a wheel of 13 symbols, to finally rest on one that you feel drawn to. Fine so far. However, NO MATTER WHICH SYMBOL YOU LAND ON, you will find a relevant answer to your question. For example, if you ask question number 86 "Can I find the object I have lost", you will get one of thirteen answers, all pertaining to that question, such as "Someone will bring it back to you" or "It will turn up when it has a mind to" or "it is in a dark place" or "it is being moved around undetected" and so on and so on with all 100 questions.
There is nothing wrong with this kind of silly nonsense if it's just cheap Christmas cracker type party entertainment that you are looking for. But for those of us who take magic seriously it is highly insulting.
This was the first book by Titania Hardie that I purchased, and will definitely be my last. It has gone straight in the bin.
