This is an excellent book and wonderful photography of all kinds of vessels which used the River Clyde. The photos by Dan McDonald author of the "Clyde Puffer" are great. I have happy memories of Glasgow where I lived for 16 years and my first employment was with a shipping company there at the age of 14 in 1941. For anyone interested in ships and shipping this is a must

I bought this for my brother in law, a Glaswegian and exiled Scot who was convalescing after an operation and confined to his house. He was an engineering officer with Clan Line steamers back in the 1950s, operating out of the Clyde all over the world, so I thought he would like it to read . Shortly after receiving it, he phoned me to say how much he was enjoying it, and he had no idea that sea going sailing ships were still going up the Clyde so late into the 20th Century. He highly recommends it.
