Given this map 3 stars as it serves both walkers and cyclists, indicates towns that has amenities / POI and it's waterproof so keeps your head dry when it rains (it is Scotland after all as we had hail, snow and 50mph northerly winds end of April). Other than that, not really worth buying and would be better printing off the maps from the JMW website if that is legally permitted. Maybe the book (which I didn't buy) gives more detailed information on the walk. For those of you familiar with the 'footprint' maps that are 1:40 000 ish scale, features including mile distance guides, profiles and cautions/guides for certain sections, this has none of these. Having just completed the route by cycling, I only referred to the map a couple of times as the route is so well signposted. Being 1:75 000 scale, it is no practical use whatsoever in Edinburgh and the only magnified circles on the map are for the start and finish.
p.s. Don't forget to enter the birthplace of JM in Dunbar for a fascinating insight to his life and achievements and to collect your completion certificate (donations to the trust are warmly received).
