This book, although intended as a first-year university text, provides information on all aspects of the business of perfumery, from the properties of the materials used to the techniques used to market the finished fragrances. It is highly recommended to anyone considering either the perfume industry as a career, or to anyone interested in perfumes. Students of cosmetic science will also need to know much of the information that this book provides and, as I said, it is highly recommended.

I Firmly believe this is the best text book anyone can buy who wants to know about the Perfumery industry and its related fields. If you a student in the field it is a must. I would highly recomend this book which has been a great help to me throughout my university course in perfumery.

Paid a premium price for this book only to be disappointed. Wrongly sold and described as a text book on perfumery. Very little on the actual making of perfumes. Lacking in real information on making perfumes. But loads of waffle on whats needed to set up a perfume business such as accounting, tax regulation etc.

AS another reviewer already stated: there is next to no information on how to actually go about making a perfume. This book contains all kind of marketing information,technical information(Data for construction of a semi parabolic cusum mask)?!,explanations of the various job titles at a typical perfume company-etc,etc,etc. I can't for the life of me understand how so many Basenotes members said this book was helpful as it has so little real perfume making information. Save your money-don't buy this book.
