Great book about a true champion I went to Mallory Park 1000 bikes about 5 years ago He was out on his MV he wipe the floor with everyone Which included Ago,J Cooper,P Read and many more top riders. and all this from a man well in his 70s. ( GENIUS on a bike. )
I bought this book in audiobook format and thought it was a well detailed study of the great mans career, but with more detail on the motorcycle side.
Unfortunately my audiobook was narrated by somebody who evidently knows nothing of the subject and is jam-packed full of cringeworthy mis pronunciations (Velocette becoming Velo Setee) and unforgivably, Mike HALLYWOOD for the frequently referred to Mike Hailwood. Laughable to hear someone try to say DOHC as a word! :-D "dokch". There are many more than I am going to bother saying here. You get the idea.
A good read up to Mick Walkers usual standard. Factually excellent and a lot of historical data in the text. Certainly compliments the other books in the series though not as interesting as Hailwood or Ivy I look forward to the new Sammy Miller biog
