Hope his other books are much better than this.

I like travelogues, but I'm no biker. I am however an engineer, so this falls at the first hurdle for me. Technical content virtually non-existent and what is there is not always accurate.
Then we get onto the journey. While I've seen the author's other books, they hadn't tempted me enough to read them. Yet. They'd need to be a lot better than this than to want to bother. Why? Because the guy can't write, I'm afraid. This is a series of bar-room anecdotes, not a book.
As a travelogue, it fails. The ride could have been around a test track for all the impression we get of what I assume to be the diverse parts of Australia.
And the language. Well, I'm not fond of swearing, but it can be funny. It isn't funny here, and it adds nothing. There are a couple of chuckles in here, but no more.
Three stars? I may be being generous.
Let's hope for another book from Guy Martin, and quickly.
