A true piece of work with wonderful old school characters and adventure.I've read legend and many other books of Gemmell including the rigante trilogy but this is completely refreshing even if it's an older work. 5*

David Gemmell is clearly one of the greatest fantasy writers to ever have lived. There is nothing to not like about this book. If you like heroic fantasy this is a must read.

A different perspective on DG`s usual fantasy novel.
An excellent piece of reading thoroughly enjoyed and recommended. I will be rereading this story again.

Well written - characters with real personalities & temperaments. Good paced action. A 'hero' often by chance as much as by design - shades of grey not black & white.

Gemmell has been, is, and will be our finest fantasy writer, the depth of his characters is unmatched by other authors.
except perhaps by the great J.R.R.,

Really good book, well written with great characters, as usual. David Gemmell can really taken you to another world. Fascinating reading. Loved it.

If you like reluctant heroes, other great characters, fights, battles and a nasty wizard, then you can't go far wrong with this

My first David Gemmel book. Well written, meaning easy reading. Great characters and plenty of action. Definitely worth a read.

Morningstar is the perfect culmination of the Gemmell heroic fantasy formula. It has vibrant, engaging characters, a vivdly-sketched fantasy world, a complex and challenging plot (with a brilliantly-executed time travel aspect), all narrated with the dynamic pace and pounding excitement that are Gemmell's hallmarks. There is also a poignancy and elegance which sets this book apart from and above his other top works. This is Gemmell's best book to date.

An unusual format for Mr Gemmell but still displays the master storytellers cunning and compelling gift for weaving a tale.
