I like the Sunflower series of walking books as they always contain lovely photographs that make you want to get out there right now. This one was no exception, and I found the alternative versions of the walks helpful as many of the routes would otherwise not be suitable for drivers.
The Dolomites are stunning and you don't need to be exceptionally fit to get away from the other tourists. When we went in June there was still some snow on the higher routes so we decided we will go back next year to have ago at the walks we could not tackle this time. We will be taking this book with us.

We've travelled with this guide three times- to Dobbiaco, Corvara and Vigo di Fassa. It's an extremely useful summary of all aspects of the area and fills a gap in the market as no other guide is so informative whilst remaining portable enough for the car glove compartment. It fits easily in the rucksack too, but unlike most Sunflower guides, we didn't buy it for the walks. Be clear that the walks are often strenuous and ambitious, and the preface states that it would be wise to build in plenty of additional time for his walks! For which read the author is fearless, fast and fitter than most of us. However there are so many useful town and village plans and maps, and so much useful background as well as good quality tempting photographs, that we referred to it constantly.

To get an overview the book is quite good and I find some good inspiration to a trecking vacation in the Dolomites and which part to go to

Nothing wrong with this as such in terms of content, but heavy and difficult to read. I was hoping for a Dorling Kindersley type guide, this comes across as more of a university study guide for aspiring walking/geography experts.

Looks to be a good book but no time yet to read it - heading to Europe in June and then will see how good it really is!!!
