Lots of good advices helpful to prepare a smooth expatriation to Japan. It includes heaps of addresses and helpful website links. This book gives you an idea of what kind of jobs you can get, what are the different options in terms of visa, and also the type of accommodation. Of course you will find some useful information about culture differences as well as tourist information regarding the main Japanese cities.
I came across this book soon after I considered working in Japan and after flicking through at the book store went home and read through it.
The book is brilliantly presented and very well written and researched. It covers absolutely every aspect of working in Japan, providing contacts and addresses at the end of each section for those who wish to make further enquries.
The book is certainly a great starting point to anyone considering to live/work in Japan, for those who already have a rough idea of what to expect having read elsewhere, who are perhaps enquiring about a more specific aspect of Japan, for example, Japanese Properties etc, I would encourage you to buy a more specific book as this gives a general overview of Japan.
I like that there are decstiptions on where to live in all the major cities which is really helpful if you dodn't know the country. There are also excellent quality maps which really helps you work out what's where. Big enough to be comprehensive but not not too small to be overwhelming
