Rommel is a very interesting man, and it's easy to see how he rose through the ranks. He goes into lots of detail about operations he was involved in, and at the end of each section he makes observations about what was done right and wrong. The maps provided in the book can be a little confusing, but reading the text a couple of times usually gives you a good idea what the battlefield look like.

Rommel's classic book about infantry tactics is essential reading for the military enthusiast. It's also an excellent primary source for the historian.
