Batman Shaman is a collection the frist five issues of Batman Legends of the Dark Knight. The start of the story takes place before Batman Year One with Bruce Wayne in Alaska, he got attacked by an gun-man and was lost in the snowing cuiffs when saved by an Tribal Shaman-Medicine man by telling Bruce Wayne the story of the healing, the story of the bat. The rast of the story takes place after Year One and All I can say is this, it's one hell of a mystery story!

As for the art, the art is well done. There is not much I can say about it. It is just good art work. But if you want to know why I like the art of this book then here this, I like it more then some of the art from other comics back in the 80's.

This was a great read for me, I enjoyed the story and the art.

If you love Batman Year one then by all means put Batman Shaman in your shopping basket or you liked other Batman Legends of the Dark Kinght story arcs then buy it, just buy it.

Following directly on from batman year one this story makes a suitable but not compulsory sequel of sorts.
It's stands as a great detective story with batman actually having to put in some real ground work and research to piece together a puzzle of his own making.
The story itself can be seen as quite slow if your not into the whole detective scene but it makes up for it with the finale confrontations.
The confrontations are interesting between batman and the main antagonists with one requiring physical intervention to defeat and the other requiring psychological intimidation. The book is extremely gripping and enjoyable in these parts displaying an amatuer batman at his best.
The book won't be everyone's cup of tea especially for the prices being asked for it now days. This book is however a definite must read for die hard batfans and chronology collectors.
