Oh Stephen, how I love thee

It's rare that I actually buy 'tomes' because:

A) They're hefty blighters to carry around
B) The text tends to be small (Thomas Covenant anyone?)
C) They can be a little daunting (how on earth will I finish these?)

However, the sheer genius of these stories blew those issues out of the water.

Ok so Carrie is a classic (I'm interested to see the film reboot starring the captivating Chloe Moretz), and The Shining creepy as hell, but Misery is the girl for me.

Now that I've seen the film it really helps to picture Kathy and James in the lead roles - gives it that extra touch of 'reality'. The story builds so perfectly and from the start you know that s*** is about to hit the fan because it's all too placid and magical in the wood cabin (the guy has finished writing a book, for goodness sake). The snow, the cigarette, the champagne... And then the snow storm hits (I read this as a metaphor for 'a storm is coming', Lord Of The Rings style... except with physical and psych abuse instead of orks and badass sword fights).

I could read Misery a million times and always pick out new things hidden deep within the text. You won't find any flowery poetic descriptions here because they have no place in such stories. They're all about tension, action and suspense, not 'the snow dusted the outside of the window like icing sugar'.

Although, I would LOVE to read King write some romantic, swoon-worthy descriptions.

Second thoughts - no. I'm more of a "gimme a bag of that eff-ing pig feed" girl.

Anyhoo, if you haven't read these stories then please do. Plus, don't worry about ordering this beast of a compendium - it's lighter than it looks, plus the lettering is so mahoosive people will be able to spot your immense literary tastes a mile off. Well done!

Stephen, did I tell you how much I love you?

I bought this book, excited to read it straight away. Whilst flicking through the pages before beginning I noticed that many of the pages of "Carrie" were printed twice and the ending of "The Shining" had subsequently not been printed at all. I am greatly annoyed by this and would urge others not to purchase this item as they too may receive a misprinted book. I feel cheated and will be writing for a replacement immediately.

Not Just One, But THREE Stephen King Novels in this omnibus edition!
And arguably, his best three to boot!
The SHINING
CARRIE
MISERY
If you haven't read any of these then now's the time to throw away your short pants and your skipping ropes, buy this, and get yourself WELL and TRULY SCARED!

Three cracKing novels squeezed in to one omnibus. But something had to give - otherwise the book would have been as weighty as a biblical epic. So expect a very small font and hardly any space between the lines. All three well worth a read - but buying each book individually is easier on the eye if not the wallet.

I bought a used copy which cost me only 1p and had to pay £2.80 in postage and packaging, to be fair I think this is a good deal as each book for e.g. Misery costs at least £6 in major retailers/bookshops. So 3 books for £2.81 is not bad at all. The used copy I got was in quite good condition so I'm happy with this purchase.
The stories were creepy and made me want to read more horror novels mainly by Stephen King.

I am only reviewing the state of the book I received. The condition of my book was sub-standard; it was sold as in 'very good condition', by World of Books Ltd., but in reality it has a strong musty smell and all the pages are badly dis-coloured around all edges (darkened). I can't bear reading it because of the smell. It even makes my hands smell...It was cheap, but it smells too bad to read, so a waste of money!

Stephen King at his utmost best.

The Shining is a fantastic read that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Classic horror when King had peaked with his writing skills. The book keeps you engrossed right to the end. He makes the characters come alive almost, so you will remember them for years to come. I read this book many years ago. And it is still as good now as it was then. I guess quality never changes.

IVE HAD THESE THREE BOOKS ON PAPERBACKS AND REALLY LOVE THEM, HOWEVER, I CANNOT ADD THEM UP FOR MY COLLECTION BECAUSE I HAVE READ THEM SO OFTEN THAT THE COVERS WERE RUINED ALREADY.
it's a good thing I have found this, all three of my favorite books in hard bound, for a very reasonable price! i would definitely add this up to my collections!

Book arrived in good condition and for 3 books in one the pricing was amazing, considering one Stephen king book alone costs approximately £8.99 or more for paperback and Kindle edition, and this is a hardcover. Very pleased, will be purchasing more books in the future. All Hail Stephen King.... :)
