I have owned a copy of this book since 1979,( now very used condition!) every type of cake , sweet or plain dough covered, sadly some of the quick and easy cake mixes used for a few of the easy cakes are no longer available, but does not devalue this book. Covers lucious gateaux , biscuits, coffee cakes and yeast cookery, along with some savory ones . All illustrated in colour, and not a cup cake or muffin in sight! This was a german book originally translated into english so that is the type of cakes; european rather than american, patisserie rather than starbucks. For an enthusiastic baker.
