This book covers pretty much all that pottery students need to know: hand-building, wheel-throwing, glazing, design & decoration, fire & space. It is written in a clear manner with step-by-step pictures and instructions. There are also glaze recipes by famous potters like Lucie Rie and Shoji Hamada. Highly recommended!

This is very much a 'how to' book and covers most aspects of pottery making. It is well illustrated and sufficiently clear to allow even a beginner to start making pots without any further instruction. If I had to choose one book on practical pottery making it would be this one because it is so clear and so comprehensive.
