A reasonable effort but full of production errors
on 23 February 2012
First, I quite enjoyed this. It is not top notch but it is a cut above some zombie books.
Pros: there were some slightly unusual elements in the story, which I won't spoil by mentioning. The format is the diary of - we are told - a poor, uneducated person trained in the military, so the rather unsophisticated writing style laced with chunks of technical jargon works quite well.
Cons: The proofreading is poor to very poor, which after a while does interfere with your enjoyment. I really don't understand why somebody in the production process can't just proofread these e-books. Surely if nothing else the author could do it free of charge? It would only take a few hours and would massively improve their product and reputation.
The story got repetitive after a while, with the narrator luckily able to fly a succession of abandoned planes. But at a modest price I would buy the next episode.
