An inspiring and beautiful book. However for a beginner crochet, why are many of the projects knitted in double yarn, it makes it visually a great deal harder, and so I was forced to change the pattern to single yarn and hope it works to match the hook size. I'm still struggling to make the coasters look as smart as the picture, there are no diagrams to show where exactly the chain spaces are, or treble spaces are that are instructed in each project, only a general instruction at the beginning, so it's a bit hit and miss and so the results are very variable to me. Some step by step photos of the early rounds which are crucial to the coasters/ each project would have been better. Or a free You tube video link for step instructions for each project....

This book is great value for money. There are 20 projects and a lot of guidance is given. At the beginning, Erika Knight explains the differences between yarns, which is really useful. She tells you what tension and hook size is best for each different yarn. Then she goes on to show you stitches and there is a very useful section about how to understand patterns, all beautifully laid out. There are some very attractive stripe cushions in the project section, which I shall certainly be making, as well as the laptop case. In fact, all of the projects are inspiring and look achievable. Just a few of these include, in rising difficulty:
A clutch (which could also become a pencil case or a small storage or make up bag)
A lovely looking throw
A pair if fingerless gloves and a snood for the winter
A 'patchwork motif' blanket and
A pretty scallop scarf for warmer weather.

I would recommend this book to anyone.

A beautiful book which I had borrowed in the past and had to have for myself. Clear instructions with everything for the learner and more complicated projects for the more experienced. Couldn't recommend it more.

Ericka Knight has taste and a simplicity that is appealing and enduring. A lovely book. Well written and affordable to make the projects. You get hooked if you can forgive the pun!
