Another great read within a series of WW2 memoirs that is worth a visit, ...fliers stories
on 20 October 2016
Another written in spare moments during down time whilst on active service (lots of names redacted to pass the war time censors).
Solid flying stories, experiences & detail of the fight at the time, told in an "every-man, everyday" writing style.
The sort of reading that connects you with another age, no glory, just gritty determination to get up & fly, look after your own & hopefully there'll be eggs & bacon & a full canteen upon return, a tale of short lives, short bursts of adrenaline fueled risk sitting atop a flying bomb whilst others seek to take you out.
An easy read, or listen even with auto speech turned on, (sort of book I like to listen to whilst doing DIY).
