this is a great book on CBT in mental health care and is written in a very informative and concise way. It breaks the ntopics down into eash to navigate and remember parts that make it easy to be good to referenced to. this is very typical of the Sage Psychology books that I have read and studied in my learning of Psychotherapy and Counselling and it explains CBT in a way that is easy to understand without looking at the basics of therapy in too much depth.

Most therapy books that I have read include about 4 - 5 chapters explaining the importance of the relationship and the basic core conditions. This includes that but does not seem to go into this in too much depth and focuses on the more wider and varied approaches to different disorders from a CBT perspective showing CBT in action more than in theory.

It makes a very good edition to referencing and would be useful in critical analysis in essays and writing of assignments.

CBT in mental health care is written in a clear and accessible format. Each section is self-contained, so it is possible to read just the section you are interested in. Ideally to get the most from the book you need to have a grounding in CBT.

The book covers the case formulation approach to CBT, which is clearly explained. It then covers specific mental health groups, using case studies to further understanding - often using diagrams to illustrate the case formulation of the example.

The book I feel has a wider appeal than just within a CBT approach. It is a useful handbook for gaining insight into working with mental health in general. Some of the approaches used within the book are possible to adapt and use in other counselling approaches.

Down to earth, practical, great information when you try to get your head around working in a mental health institution. For me definitely the best guide for trainees!

Great book, up to date and easy to understand. Good research book for CBT students and health professionals. Good combination of CBT approaches that are theoretically and practically refreshing.
