The book's main advantage is its good coverage of the main topics and issues in corporate governance. It is definitely more up-to-date and less old-fashioned in its approach (e.g. corporate governance is not just treated as compliance with regulation and codes of best practice) than most of the alternatives. Its main disadvantage is the writing style which at times can be difficult to follow and doesn't make for an exciting read.

I read the book out of general interest and for the fact that Corporate ( CG) is related to my PhD topic on Audit fees. It covers CG in different international settings and explains possible scenarios of the agency problems wihich may arise from diverging interests between owners and management etc Throughout the book, several examples exist of actual events which relate to the chapter/ section/ subsection being discussed
However more paragraphs would have been used in certain areas in order to highlight different aspects of the points being discussed;and to make the pages 'easier on the eye' However this demerit is not an issue of significance when one considers how useful the book is to anyone interested in CG .
CONCLUSION : Everyone ( i.e lecturer ,student or anyone interested in CG) should buy this book. You can't go wrong .
