A frank and honest account on how a serious rugby injury impacted on the lives of an ordinary family. Yogi tells of his tough childhood, finding love, and his battle to live and then to come to terms with being paralyzed from the neck down and being ventilated. You will laugh....you will cry but most of all you will be inspired. An amazing book..
I had the pleasure, if you can call pleasure, playing rugby against Bryan. Receiving a tackle off him was feeling like being hit by a train! A true warrior on the pitch but a gent off the pitch, and after the game. As the game should be played, it was sad to read this book. But it just shows how a small community and the rugby family pull together. My heart goes out to all the family aster the sad loss of Bryan in September this year (2013)
My husband suffered a similar injury in the neck playing rugby but luckily not as catastrophic. Nevertheless, my husband broke his neck in a scrum. I can relate to many experiences. Very emotional. Sending love to Susan, Teleri and Ilan as well as Yogis family and friends x
