Need to read this book while on Whitehall itself for max impact

I always enjoy the telling of a bigger story by the use of a single year or place and this book does that very well. Lots of information and weaving of history in and out of the chapters.
Negatives- just one map? Needed more of these to give the reader better sense of location. A book about one small area jammed packed with historic events deserved more. It’s ten years out of date and while not much history has happened it would b good to bring it up to contemporary events even just the use of the cabinet office for the coalition talks of 2010.
A howler where it wrongly ascribes the paternity of the Old Pretender and while it was a laser light on Whitehall, a bit more wider context/detail would add to what was a very satisfying piece of politicial-historical reading
