Deborah Wells takes a taboo and terrifying subject straight out of the myths and confronts us with it. The Dark Man is a phenomenon many people are familiar with, yet choose to hush up, ignore or put down to 'tiredness, an overactive imagination or stress'. Deborah shows how actually this archetypal energy is part of our history and indeed our own personal growth. A fascinating glimpse into the dark nature of our desires, and how, if perceived correctly, the Dark Man (metaphorical, spiritual, psychological or otherwise) can be a force for good. Really enjoyed this book. It is well written, easy to relate, honest and full of useful information for living a better life by acknowledging the 'dark side!'
This book is long overdue... a chance to consider and reflect on those intriguing questions never answered during our lives. This book doesn't guarantee to give you all the answers, but it does provide the mood, scenery and atmosphere to better flavour the memories. We all have seen, heard, and/or felt his presence, and long wanted to understand his role in our lives; here is a chance to contemplate a range of possibilities, to debate them, to try and crystallize one's own opinion, and widen our appreciation of his spectre. If you come to this book, free of dogma, you will enjoy forming that opinion; try it and just maybe you will be a tad wiser, or then again you may continue to look over your shoulder? the choice is yours!
