Not certain of what to make of the positive reviews on this, I read them and based on the feedback purchased it. I have been collecting comics for over 40 years and have never known vague story lines to get positive reviews.

This is the second X-Men comic compilations I have purchased and have come to a conclusion that Marvel/Disney are putting these books out as an easy way to make money via Amazon without catering for the customer experience.

Dormammu is a massively under used character in the Marvel universe, so much more could be done with him and has not e.g. conflict with Mephisto, Loki to look for revenge for the Evil Eye saga etc. plenty of scope. Here he is advertised as the major enemy and his involvement stops mid way, you also do not find out how he entered the story.

There are two half stories in this compilation, first half a story involving X-Men and Dormammu, next a half a story involving X-Men and Shield. This makes the story-line vague and your left with questions you have paid money to have answered.

I really enjoyed Avengers Vs Xmen, it was large, more expensive than this but had the whole relevant story line from start to finish.

The pattern I am seeing is Marvel pushing out these compilations with a high price tag to hook people to purchase them from Amazon that do not have access to a comic book shop to browse the item, had I been able to do this I would have saved my money and purchase the comics individually.

From now on I will be sticking to genuine graphic novels which have the whole story.

Probably the strongest written xmen series with one of the best xmen teams. The xmen and the new recruits face off against Dormammu as he tries to take control of limbo from Magik. Directly feeds into the next Xmen event.
