I enjoyed reading the book and my only criticism is in my opinion it was a bit repetitive in parts.
Would still recommend though and overall was a good read

The follow up to Party time, another book I read in one sitting! A true depiction of prison life, a fascinating read. Highly recommended.

I couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. Shaun writes an excellent story. He tells a fascinating, harrowing, extremely sad at times and sometimes humerous tale. He is so detailed in describing the Maricopa Jail. The inmates, the guards. The way he described the violence he witnessed. The food he ate, everything.

His experience of raise and fall in the drugs industry is so fascinating. How he wrote his journal with a golf pencil sharpenered on his cell wall. How he smuggled the journal out. He survived to tell his story. Brilliant book, worth the money and definitely worth a read.

Glad it wasn’t me in that prison!!!!
A great honestly written book that pulls no punches!
Some great black humour that reflects on the mindset of some of the prisoners!
Glad to Shaun came out a spiritually enlightened person.
Read the full set of books to get an idea of the life Shaun was leading and how he is now.
Excellent book and author.

Absolute page turner! Shaun is clearly a nice guy who made some silly decisions which got him banged up in hell. All credit to him. He really did use his time in jail to learn from his mistakes & make himself a better human. I cried at the end- what amazing friends & family Shaun has! Can't wait to read his other books. Thank you Shaun for sharing what happened. I never ever want to go to prison that's for sure 👊🏻

Following on from Shaun Attwoods 'Party Time' this book just continues the carnage or more appropriately, the nightmare. If you have read 'Party Time' or indeed watched 'Ravin' Arizona' part of The Locked Up Abroad series then this book is a must. I'd strongly recommend you read 'Party Time first however to fully establish Shaun's story & then with 'Hard Time' as he battles being housed in one of America's toughest jails. Corrupt system, gangland violence, sexual assaults, beatings, murders, the most horrendous living conditions imaginable, Shaun has it all to contend with. Hard hitting, thrilling, emotional, this book has it all. I read it in 3 days. Definitely recommend.

Enjoyable & well written account of time spent in the US prison system, in the worst of places.

This is a very honest account of life in the Arizona prison system. Shaun served 775 days before he was sentenced. The conditions in goal were horrendous, but somehow through great strength of character and the support of friends and family he survived. A very entertaining, well written and candid account of a nightmarish experience. Highly recommended.
