This book contains the covers drawn by James Jean for Fables.
Each cover is printed, in high resolution, on semi-gloss high quality paper. The book itself if hardcover with a dust jacket. The art on the hard cover is slightly embossed with a sticker pasted at the centre.
There are 75 single issues and 11 wraparounds, a wonderful look at his creative style over the years.
Also included are the sketches James Jean did for his covers. The covers are sometimes accompanied by his thoughts or some quote from the comic.
At the end of the book is an interview conducted by Bill Willingham with James Jean. On the last two pages are photos of his work area. One of them shows the Eisner Awards he has put neatly on his shelves. Strangely, the interview and photos are printed on non glossy paper, which I think will turn yellow in the future.
This is a higly recommended book for fans of James Jean or Fables.

This is a truly beautiful book to behold. The artwork is amazing and the the presentation is nothing short of the usual James Jean charm. My only complaint is that it does not contain every Fables cover by James. To have had a complete collection all in one place would have made it that extra little bit nicer.
I'm a fan of the comic book series Fables anyways and the main reason i first noticed the comics was because of the beautifully illustrated covers by james jean. I'd previously seen this book in my comic book store for £26.99 (so this is a bargain at practically half price!) and it's totally worth every penny. The covers are blown up and all the original sketches are shown as well as pencil and chalk versions and the quotes from the actual comic which inspired James Jean for the covers. this book is wonderful and beautiful. i could read it over and over just to admire the illustrations of Mr Jean. For a fan of Fables. it's more than worth it. and for anyone interested in this style of illustration, it's worth every penny.
No words can possibly describe the artistry of James Jean creating the covers for Fables series. You just have to see it yourself in huge A4 format, probably just to tickle your sense of beauty. It makes you want to go through the whole 'Fables' story again, especially when all the minor details one doesn't pay much attention to (since these are only covers) when buying an assembly just push their way through to your eyes and perception. All I missed was the written story behind at least some issue covers (like the small descriptions for assembly covers) but I believe it might have been practically impossible to bring this and still maintain it a 200-page visual celebration.
This book is a beautiful collection of the covers made by James Jean for the graphic novels Fables. It contains all the covers from Book 1 to Book 11. The book is a good buy if you're a fan of Fables, or simply if you appreciate art. James Jean's artwork is truely fantastic and such a nice addition to any bookshelf.
