This story is just magical. One of my daughter's favourites to read during winter and before Christmas. Beautiful illustrations. A truly heart-warming story to share with your little ones.

It took a few reads for me to appreciate this book as I thought it read a little too much like a poem rather than a simpler story for young children. Now though, we've become used to and embraced the more complex writing and love the language and expressions used. The range of emotions felt within this book really are wonderful. The illustrations are beautiful. So gentle and soothing, they really help tell the story and capture the emotions of the animals perfectly.

For those who want to know, it's about an old hare who befriends a little robin and they become close. One night a storm rips through the woods and the next morning robin can not be found anywhere (quite an emotional part!). Thankfully they are happily reunited and the old hare finds robin's uprooted tree and plants it outside his burrow where they live together happily etc etc... Highly recommended!

My granddaughter aged 2 loves this story and me too except that it is very harrowing at one part and almost had me in tears ... not my granddaughter though so I guess its an age thing.

Enchanting illustrations of a robin, etc. who is lost in a storm. Yet another charming book from Little Tiger Press. Most of the paintings spread over two pages of a good sized book.

Made a perfectly lovely present for a little girl. She was quite delighted with her present under the tree and wants it to be read to her again and again.
