This is the fourth and final of four cds in the UNIT series, which was first released by Big Finish in 2004. As any Doctor Who fan will know, UNIT (Unified Intelligence Taskforce; formerly United Nations Intelligence Taskforce) is the name of the organisation which investigates paranormal or extraterrestrial threats to Earth. UNIT has been involved in the Doctor Who universe on Earth in the tv series for many years, and its roots lie in the Second Doctor story The Web of Fear from 1968, where Colonel (later Brigadier) Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart first made the acquaintance of the Doctor.

Chaudhry is aided by an old friend and former UNIT stalwart in trying to clean up the mess left by Major Kirby; and dealing with the deaths of their UNIT colleagues. Meanwhile, a terrible illness is sweeping the nation, and the globe. And someone is watching UNIT. Can Chaudhry find Brimmicombe-Wood before it’s too late?

This is another great episode in this four-part overarching story, and really very neatly wraps up the over-arching storyline that has been undertaken throughout the series. There is a lot of action going on in the story, and it could seem difficult to successfully pull off action scenes, with lots of running, fighting, and moving rapidly in a purely audio story. But it has been done very well here. There are lots of twists and turns in the narrative, and it’s really great to hear David Tennant in a role other than that of the Tenth Doctor. A very strong story, and a great conclusion to the UNIT series.

Even the theme tune is very Torchwood'ish'. The 5 parter series starts with 'The Coup' available as a free download on the Big Finish website. It features some very vibrant characters and a terrific pace of stories.

I'd recommend taking out a subscription from Big Finish themselves; who pay tax in this country; and offer great discounts to fans. You only pay £1 for the final CD in the series with a subscription, and get 'U.N.I.T. The Coup', not available from any other online retailer, for absolutely free.

This execllent adventure is availible direct from Big Finish Productions for £5 for a CD and you get a free download. If you want more adventures, buy direct from them so they make a profit and keep on going. Not only that, they pay tax which means you pay less tax.

I really enjoyed this CD, like listening to the Dr who CD,s but this one was much more grown up, quite fast paced and i liked the fact that David Tennant plays a baddy.Won,t go into detail as it would spoil it for you but well worth a listen.
