Clumsy, clunky style leaves one feeling that this was a rare and unique opportunity missed. The early promise turns into a desperate plea to get to the end as quickly as possible in the hope that at least the end might be comparable with the start, it wasn't. The only reason to read it is that there is nothing else available!

If you are an F1 "geek" and you loved the 2009 season - this is the book for you.

If you are a casual fan, you might find this a bit in depth.

I now realise that I'm not as much of a geek as I thought I was!

This is a great insight into the story of amazing success pulled from almost certain failure due to the determination of one man, Ross Brawn, and an amazing team who continued to work on their F1 car despite Honda pulling the plug in the desperate hope there would be a way to bring it to the starting grid in Australia. Whilst not always 'gripping', the insight into the mentality of the key members of the Brawn GP team and the hurdles that team overcame is almost as exciting as the success Brawn GP achieved in their first year.

The man they call the Bear is an amazing character and this book sums it up. He started out building scalextric cars and moved on gradually setting up his own company with a mate. The rest is history but it couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. The book tells the story from his early days to the unbelieveable tear jerking end of the 2009 campaign. You wouldn't have bet on it and as a script for a film you would have to say that it is too far fetched to be believeable but it happened. This is a greta read if you are an young engineer looking for a role model in life or just simply an F1 fan. It's a must have.

a Good insight into what happened before the Braun team was set up. Very interesting to those enthusiasts of motor sport.
