What I like most about this book is it's size, it is compact without missing out on anything about the current state of the world. The first section of the book looks at the general points about war and its global effects; causes of war, world of military arms and the implications of war on humans and moral standards. The second part is split into sections which each takes a region and analyses its nature of conflict and any peace-building process. The book closes by taking a global view point of peace making.
Dan Smith has successfully put together an informative guide to what is going on in the world. The maps and illustrations are brilliantly produced and the explanations are well-written. It is definitely a book worth buying for!
