I bought this cd to help me learn Kurdish as my boyfriend speaks fluent Kurdish and English so i wanted to make the effort to learn some Kurdish so i could talk with his friends and family. I have found the cd very helpful and have picked up new words very quickly with the help of all the colourful illustrations and games on the cd. The only downside is that it doesnt have words such as connectives so i know the words for objects, food, body parts and so on but find it difficult to put a sentence together without the connectives! I would however recommend this product without hesatation but would advise it is also bought with a dictionary as well. Hope this is helpful and good luck to everyone trying to learn :)

A good little CD from which you can definitely learn the more basic side of the language and like most people who seem to have bought it, if you just want to learn a couple of words to throw around at your BF/GF however if you are deadly serious about learning Kurdish efficiently as a fluent language I can not recommend this cd for you. basicaly the way the CD works is much like a picture book, with pronunciations if you click on the words. thats pretty much it from there on its a list of relative words to the topic you choose to study (i.e. first words, colours, the body, numbers, food, phrases, shopping and time - i think that's all the topics) and small games which have you matching words/pronunciations to pictures. I personally felt that it doesn't challenge you to learn, or stick in your head very well. like you could go through an exercise relatively fast due to the simple structure of the programme but you haven't really learnt 100% of the material covered and like someone has already said it doesn't cover connectives nor does it cover the grammatical side of the language either so you might not be able to have a fluent conversation with any Kurds even after learning the content provided. its very much a quick-learn pick up and go CD which is very handy, but if you've had experience with Rosetta Stone or have used quality audio books by the likes of Michel Thomas, then you might want to search around for something bit more advanced in content before picking this up. Yes it is an "Absolute Beginners" resource, but what I have found out when learning languages, starting with a core foundation to build the language around is very important, rather than simply providing words and the relative translation and to then rely purely on memory.
To conclude, as a learning resource this will definitely help on learning new words and phrases, some more useful than others and from the lack of Kurdish language resources out there this is still one of the better choices, maybe test the waters with this one first before purchasing the vocab builder though.

This product is very good for learners as it helped me to pronouce words properly.
I think it is better for complete beginners as i knew some words as my boy friends and his family are kurdish.
Overall it is a really good purchase as you learn how to say the phrases etc.

I just bought this item recently and i like it since theres a game, concentrate in sorani and it gives the option of recording ur voice and compare it to the speaker. The downside for me is they talk too fast and for me to be able to get the pronounciation properly i need to repeat it many times and actually ask kurdish themselves to how to pronounce it properly since i couldnt get the pronounciation in the cd since its too fast. There is no option for this so I couldnt change the setting. The phrases are limited as it is ofcourse for begginers but i hope they put more on it. If compared to pimpsleur this product is not as good but there is not kurdish in pimsleur so i couldnt get hold on it and if ever there is it wont be affordable as this lol.

What i found the most thats really hit this is the options of having a multi-language choice (For instance, if ur swedish, there is translation of swedish while they talk in kurdish with the latin writing on it too). There are too many option of language so if english is not your first and second language you can still learn from this one.

I found this product very good, it contains the basic words and it is very easy to use as you can hear the words being spoken, this is a fantastic advantage as it means you can learn how the words are pronounced, there are a lot of basic words to learn and the games designed for helping you to remember them are extremely useful and effective.
However the one problem I found was due to the fact that there a several different types of Kurdish language, e.g iranian and irag, therefore I found that some of the words were from the Kurdish language which I am not trying to learn.
Overal I would definately recommend this project to anyone interested in learning the language, it is definately by far the best way I have learnt a language.
