As with most of Jancis Robinson's previous writing this book is great fun to read. I would even recommend it as a read to someone who didn't like wine.
For those who do like their wine it is a bible on how to approach drinking wine with the aim of improving and increasing their enjoyment. It is gently paced with good descriptions of all the wine-tasting terms and is packed with amusing little anecdotes.
Before actually using the it as a 'work book'I would recommend reading it through from start to finish so as to become familiar with the books lay-out and style - it pays dividends.

Jancis Robinson's writing is always informative and witty, and this book is no exception. She makes learning about wine fun and by the end of the book you feel like you could hold your own on the subject in any circumstances. Well worth the read.

If you are interested in starting to get to know more about wine then this is a good starting point. Easy to follow guide with Pratical tips on how to get-to-know your taste buds along with all the theory.
Jancis Robinson has added her usual personal wit which make for an interesting read!
Fizzy wines are also covered with an interesting section on the different grapes and areas.
Well worth getting. Hardback, so always looks nice.
