I have been a fan of Geoff thompsons style of writing for a while now and was not disappointed when I read "Real Grappling". I found this installment in the "real...." series to an informative, clear introduction to this particular realm of combat. This is not at all a "how to..." or "ten easy steps...." type of book, but it does outline the principles of grappling as seen from a self defence viewpoint... warts and all as well as the pros and cons and what to expect if you wish to research the field in greater detail.... In my opinion well worth a look.
should have compiled all the grappling manuals into one volume for only a slight mark up in price.
or sold as a box set.
I feel this way about most of Geoffs manuals although it contains sound info.
If your a knowledgeable grappler you may be disappointed by the lack of techniques, but i feel thats the reality of street fighting get good at a few "basic" techniques with a relatively high success rate.
